Dar al Atta’a distributes food parcels to needy families

MUSCAT — The Omani charity Dar al Atta’a distributed over 2,800 food parcels to needy families all over the Sultanate last week in association with Omantel and Bank Sohar. The three companies worked hand in hand with Dar al Atta’a to fully embrace the spirit of giving and to help those less fortunate to enjoy the start of the month with friends and family.

They helped many families across Oman in Sedab, Seefah, Al Saib, Saham, Sohar, Al Musinah, Al Khaborah, Al Sweeq and Barka in Al Batinah Region. Moreover, Dar al Atta’a with the help of Omantel and Bank Sohar provided families in Nizwa, Samayil, Bed Bed, Izki, Ibri, Yanqel and Dhofar with food parcels. HSBC Bank donated 250 food parcels to families in Qurayat, Samayil, Sedab and Seaa with the help of Dar al Atta’a.

The charity works hard all year round to help those without regular access to housing, clothing, schooling and food by providing them with living essentials through donations from companies in the public and private sector as well as the Omani public. Nada al Jamali, Board Member and spokesperson for Dar al Atta’a said: “We would like to thank HSBC, Omantel and Bank Sohar for their co-operation in helping us to reach as many families as possible during Ramadhan.

This month, more than any other, it is important to think about those people less fortunate than us helping them through donations which can be made by visiting our head office in Madinat Qaboos or through our website.” Members of the public can also contribute by purchasing coupons from Muscat City Centre and Qurum City Centre.

Dar al Atta’a will be present in both malls during Ramadhan and shoppers will be able to purchase a coupon which will provide someone with a breakfast or Iftar meal during Ramadhan. It is also possible to visit any LuLu hypermarket or Sultan Centre during the holy month to make food donations.
