Cisco employees lend support to Emirates Marine Environmental Group's community projects in the UAE

Keeping in line with its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and giving back to society, Cisco employees from the Dubai office have lent support to Emirates Marine Environmental Group (EMEG) by taking part in a range of community initiatives.

With employee volunteering being a central component of Cisco's community involvement efforts, a group of Cisco employees together with EMEG volunteers, spent one day cleaning a beach reserve that is a nesting ground for the critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtles.

In addition, the group participated in a mangrove sapling planting and cleaning session in a mangrove lagoon that is a habitat for marine and bird life.

Rabih Dabboussi, General Manager, Cisco UAE, "Cisco has a long history of community engagement in the UAE and this philosophy of giving back is deeply rooted in our culture. As part of this culture, we encourage our employees to get involved in their communities through several programs that make it easy to volunteer time. We have witnessed the positive impact that CSR has had on our employees, society, the environment and also our business and therefore remain committed to acting responsibly, operating sustainably and contributing to the communities in which we work and live."

Cisco is the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate.
