A new wellness plan for women introduced by First Gulf Bank will provide a Dh200,000 allowance for women who register, the bank announced in a statement issued on Saturday.

Women who join the scheme only have to deposit Dh50 each month after registration to assure themselves of financial stability in case of a cancer diagnosis. It is open to all female UAE residents between the ages of 18 and 64.

For every person who registers, the bank will also donate Dh2 to the Friends of Cancer Patients society and the Pink Caravan initiative.

No medical examinations or presentations of family history are required to be eligible for the plan, the statement announced.
