Al Tomooh Scheme inaugurates new project in Fujairah

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, recently inaugurated the Fujairah Orthopeadics and Physiotherapy Center, which is owned by Dr. Abdullah Hassan Baron, and was partially funded by the Al Tomooh Finance Scheme for Small National Businesses.

The Fujairah Orthopeadics and Physiotherapy Center is the first of its kind in the Emirate of Fujairah and the Eastern Region, with a total cost of Dhs4m approximately. The center provides rehabilitation services for children, massage therapy, the treatment of bone injuries, water therapy and other forms of sports medicine. The treatments consist of modern devices and sporting equipment which are used by qualified doctors and nurses with extensive experience. All treatments are conducted under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Baron, who holds a Bachelor's degree in General Medicine from India and a Master's degree in Sports Medicine from Australia.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Jawdat Hawass, Head of Al Tomooh Scheme which was established in 1998 as one of Emirates NBD's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The scheme continues to encourage young UAE Nationals to realise their entrepreneurial abilities and engage in the financial and business world by establishing new projects or expanding existing ones which contribute to the development of the UAE economy. In the UAE, small and medium enterprises constitute for about 95% of the total number of companies registered with the Ministry of Economy.

Commenting on the inauguration, Jawdat said, "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Abdullah Baron for this achievement and I wish him all the success. I would also like to thank the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture together with all governmental authorities in the Emirate of Fujairah for the unlimited support extended to the entrepreneurs who have been funded by the Al Tomooh Scheme."

The Al Tomooh Scheme is considered as a translation of the vision of H.H. Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to enforce the concept of entrepreneurship and Emiratisation of the sectors which are in need of UAE nationals.

At present, the Al Tomooh Scheme has funded 130 projects in a total amount of Dhs60m.
