CSR Middle East, CSR dedicated platform with 3.555 corporate members in the Middle East.
We at Lead Up attended the event on the first day only as a Media Partner since we are eager to highlight the players in the region serious about CSR. Social Responsibility starts in schools and with the leaders of tomorrow. They will be the drivers of CSR and do things we cannot even imagine today and leave this world better than they found it when they arrived. Trust us on this one.
First, the stand out presentation was clearly by Fathi Buhazza of Care by Air. Not only does this man have heart but he connected to his audience. We obviously chose him to feature in Lead Up as our "ROCKSTAR CSR PLAYER" changing this world. He sold us all on what his company does and it stuck!
As for the other presenters, they did fine and gave lots of info. but they all forgot the basic rule of these one day seminars which are:
1. You do not read off slides for your entire presentation. Slides are there to bring a point home. Take a look at a Steve Jobs presentation.
2. Make sure you know what the other speakers are talking about and coordinate well. There was lots of repetition of the same thing over and over and over.
3. Break up well the presentations with some visuals. There was no inspiring visuals of folks doing incredible work out therein the CSR world and there are lots in this region. This would have been a nice break to re-focus everyone ever one or two presentations since after a while it all sounded the same.
Lastly, AIM did a superb job at the conference. We dealt with a young man called Ahmad who was a perfect host. Keep them coming AIM.
