Qatar Petroleum donates ambulances to charitable organizations

In line with its role as a pioneer national corporation contributing to the support of humanitarian campaigns, Qatar Petroleum (QP) handed over its donation of four ambulances to various charitable organizations, namely the Qatar Charity, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani's Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF), and the Sheikh Eid bin Mohammed Charity Association.

The support given by QP to these organizations is under the directives of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of QP, and in line with the corporation's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The formal handover ceremony, which was held in Dukhan, was presided by Mr. Abulrahman Abdulla Al-Obaidly, Acting Manager of Public Relations and Communications, in the presence of other senior QP officials including Mr. Khalid Yousuf Al-Sahlawi, Manager of Integrated Facilities, and Mr. Abdulla Ghaith Al-Kuwari, Manager of Field Support (Dukhan Fields).

Also present during the event were the senior officials and staff of the charitable organizations. The ambulances were received by Mr. Abdulla Al-Dosari, Manager of the In-Kind Donation Department of the Qatar Charity; Dr. Hasan Dallol, Coordinator of Public Health of the QRCS; Mr. Ayedh Al-Qahtani, General Manager of RAF; and Mr. Haitham Hassan, Resources Development Officer of the Sheikh Eid bin Mohammed Charity Association.

The representatives of the four concerned organizations and societies expressed their gratitude and appreciation to QP for its continuous support to their humanitarian and charity campaigns.

This latest donation marks the second time in the past four months that QP has turned over ambulances to local charitable organizations to be used in their medical and humanitarian activities. QP previously handed over one ambulance each to the same four charitable organizations last December 2012.
