Dubai. Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has just released its best month ever (August) delivery figures in the subsidiary’s 12-year history.
With a total of 924 new vehicles delivered – an increase of 43 per cent over the same month in 2010 – the August figures represent a number of personal best performances from around the region with Dubai delivering 211 vehicles, Saudi Arabia 110 and South Africa 155. Since the beginning of 2011, owners across the Middle East and Africa region have taken delivery of 5,388 Porsche cars, representing an increase of 26 per cent over the corresponding period of 2010.
“What makes these figures particularly impressive is that 2010 was already a record year”, said George Wills, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE. “This success reflects the popularity of the Porsche range, and demonstrates the strength of the brand in the market place.
Wills added: “While August was a record-breaking month, the entire year to date is also proving to be a tremendous success. I know that every person involved in the import and sales of Porsche cars will be determined to improve on the performance achieved so far.”
What is particularly pleasing with the August result is that the Porsche Panamera continues to go from strength to strength with 279 customer deliveries. This figure represents the second highest since its launch in 2009. With its excellent driving characteristics and dynamic design, the Panamera has become an exceedingly popular choice for customers in the region who demand a sporty premium sedan.
The most popular model in the range continues to be the Cayenne, which increased its share over August by 3 per cent to 58 per cent of all new Porsches delivered. The new-generation range of high-performance SUVs enjoys great interest from Porsche customers and aficionados alike.
The regional office of Porsche Middle East and Africa remains optimistic for the months to come with the brands iconic 911 just celebrating the world premier of its new model at last week’s International Motor Show in Frankfurt. More than 200 customers from the region have placed their pre-order for the new 911 Carrera and Carrera S models.
George Wills said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the loyal and dedicated customers and partners throughout the region for their continuous support.”
