As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to assist the Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Duty Free organised its annual blood donation campaign among its employees earlier this month.
The initiative was conducted in coordination with Dubai Blood Donation Centre of Latifa Hospital .
The retailer said the campaign embodies its commitment and work in line with its social responsibility programme, which aims to serve the community through raising health awareness.
The donation took place at the Dubai Duty Free head office, enabling employees to donate blood conveniently between the hours of 9am and 1pm.
All the logistics of the campaign, including the provision of equipment, donation tools and medical staff, were provided by Dubai Blood Donation Centre and coordinated by Dubai Duty Free’s in-house Corporate Responsibility department.
A total of 64 pints of blood was collected from 90 Dubai Duty Free management and staff volunteers. A ‘Donor Card’ was issued exclusively to the new donors as a proof of their support.
Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman Colm McLoughlin commented: “We are delighted to work with Dubai Blood Donation Centre for this third annual blood donation drive. I thank everyone who voluntarily came forward to take part in this campaign which is vitally important to the community here in the UAE.”
