Borealis, a provider of chemical and innovative plastics solutions, has decided to donate Dhs1m to the Family Development Foundation (FDF) based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Established in 2008, the Borealis Social Fund was created to support social projects in the Middle East, Asia and Europe

"As such we continue to focus on our corporate social responsibility activities within the societies where we operate. We are expanding our petrochemical operations at Borouge, our joint venture with ADNOC, and therefore are committed to contributing to the welfare and enhancement of the communities in the UAE."

HE Mariam Al Rumaithi, General Manager of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), thanked Borealis for its generous contribution to the Foundation which will be invested in implementing the social programmes and services targeting UAE families through all the Foundation's 15 centres across the western, middle and eastern regions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
"It is pleasure to receive the significant contribution made by Borealis through its social fund," says Al Rumaithi. "We thank Borealis, a strategic partner of IPIC, for its donation to FDF which will be used to support our social programmes in line with the Foundation's social responsibility."
Established in 2006, the Family Development Foundation was created to raise a conscious family with significant genuineness that has the ability to face future challenges.
In 2010, the Borealis Social Fund made a donation of Dhs1.5m to the Emirates Foundation and the Red Crescent Society. The donation to the Emirates Foundation is currently being used to support two research projects into groundwater in the UAE as part of its 'Water for the World initiative with Borouge. In 2011, the Borealis Social Fund made a donation of Dhs3.5m to the Emirates National School and to the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs.
