Shell Oman sets up children’s Traffic Park

The Ministry of Education has set up a centre at Al Amerat Park for the Muscat Festival to raise awareness among children and youth about safety in general and road safety in  particular.

The children's Traffic Park set up by Shell Oman Marketing Company SAOG is part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative in partnership with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the Ministry of Education and the Oman Road Safety Association (ORSA).

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Ali Al Farsi, GM-External Affairs and Business Development, Shell Oman stated, "The Shell Traffic Park is designed as a means to educate the children about road safety. True learning starts young and as school going children are at an impressionable age, it is important to sensitise them about road safety.

Fatma Noorani, DG of Private Schools, Ministry of Education, said: "With the increasing rate of accidents in Oman, it is of prime importance to equip the children with the tools that will guide them in the future to observe the traffic rules for their own safety."
