Lord Michael Hastings, KPMG’s global head of Citizenship and Diversity, an independent peer from the British House of Lords, will be making a private visit to the Sultanate on October 17, to launch KPMG Oman’s plan to assist the Oman Childcare Centre empower its children and enable them to fully participate in Oman’s continuing development and progress, said a company release. 
“Commitment to our communities is one of KPMG’s core values and a cornerstone of the culture of our member firms. Our culture and values are at the heart of how we conduct business. KPMG Oman has been involved in various corporate social responsibility initiatives over the years. 
“During Lord Hastings visit, we will be launching our plan to help transform the future of the children of Oman Child Care Centre,” said Michael Armstrong, partner-in-charge at KPMG Oman. “Our efforts would be to assist the children of the Oman Child Care Centre to achieve their full potential in terms of their career ambition and guide them to become outstanding citizens of Oman.” 
Lord Hastings represents KPMG International on the Global Corporate Citizenship International Committee of the World Economic Forum. He is also a member of the WBCSD – World Business Council on Sustainable Development representing KPMG and in 2009 he became a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Council on Diversity and Talent. 
Representatives from the private and government sector will be meeting Lord Michael Hastings during his visit. 
Lord Michael Hastings is leading both areas of strategy for KPMG International reporting directly to KPMG’s International chairman and chief executive. He is currently a vice-president for Unicef. 
Lord Hastings represents KPMG International on the Global Corporate Citizenship International committee of the World Economic Forum.
