Oman Oil Company to fund training for 45 Omanis

Oman Oil Company SAOC (OOC) and Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) have signed an agreement for the training and employment of 20 high school graduates in Automobiles Mechanics. The training will be conducted by a private institute over a period of six months under the direct supervision of OPAL. The jobs have already being secured in a number of private sector companies.

OOC has also signed another agreement with Bahwan Cyber Tek for training 25 young job-seekers in foreign exchange trading and exchange operations. The agreements form an integral part of OOC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment towards the society and its continuing efforts to build the nation’s human resources.
Commenting on the agreements, Mulham al Jarf, Deputy CEO of OOC said: “We are proud to support such programmes which we believe will contribute positively towards the development of the Omani workforce. “It also complements our subsidiaries’ efforts in supporting the society in areas such as employment, health, education and building human capital capacity.”
Mohamed bin Salim al Harthy, CEO OPAL said: “We consider OOC as a strategic partner and this kind of productive co-operation with OPAL and its generous contribution to the nation is part of their leadership values. I am proud to have OOC as a member of OPAL and it is through this proactive support that genuine constructive changes are achieved."
Ruqiya al Balushiya from Wilayat of Shinas, a candidate selected for training in foreign exchange operations, said: “I believe this training programme will equip me with the right knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a rewarding career.”
