IBQ committed to Qatari youth development in Qatar; sponsors local fashion show at Katara

In an effort to further its outreach to the local youth, IBQ sponsored the Catwalk Talents Event, a talent and fashion show held at Katara Cultural Village on February 3, 2012 and organized by Stenden University and Smile Events.

Hosts of students from the different schools in Qatar attended the event with their families and enjoyed a fun catwalk and talent show put together by the organizers and children. Proceeds raised at the Catwalk Talents Events were donated to the children Cancer Hospital of Egypt.

Mr. George Nasra, Managing Director of IBQ, said, "We, at IBQ, firmly believe that education is a key pillar to the development of our youth today. This is why we constantly look for these events that are geared towards enhancing education and awareness and nurturing the growth of local talent. It is an honor to support students that have so much talent and potential. This is why we are very happy to sponsor the Catwalk Talent Show as it falls perfectly in-line with the efforts we invest in our CSR programmes."

The event was organized by Rouda Abdulla Al-Mana, the Project Manager and Mariam Ahmed Al-Nasr, the Marketing Manager both students at Stenden University, who commented, "W are glad to witness the success of the Catwalk Talents Event and to see the active participation of so many talented students in Doha. Qatar is filled with talented kids that are waiting for such opportunities to showcase their potentials. We take this chance to thank all our sponsors as well as the team of the students who helped make this event and every person that contributed to its success. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the next event!."

Corporate Social Responsibility has continuously topped the priority charts at IBQ with the bank aiming to spearhead or sponsor activities, initiatives and programmes that help promote education and awareness across the various walks of the community in Qatar.

The bank has a series of CSR programmes to its record. To name a few, IBQ has organized the annual IBQ Artists Series, a unique event in Qatar which is today recently considered by many as a perfect platform for amateur and professional artists to gain the right exposure. The bank is also a leading partner of Qatar Traffic Department's Schools without Accidents campaign, a national initiative to raise the awareness of the youth of road safety.
