ENOC marks the Holy Month of Ramadan with autism awareness campaign

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is marking the Holy Month of Ramadan as a key partner of the ‘Care by Giving’ campaign aimed at increasing awareness about autism and raising funds for the Dubai Autism Center.

All ENOC/EPPCO service stations and Tasjeel sites are taking part in the campaign throughout the Holy Month. In addition to awareness posters about autism placed in the convenience stores, staff members also wear special T-shirts provided by Dubai Autism Centre. Donation boxes are also placed in the Tasjeel sites, where members of the public can make contributions.

“Our partnership with the ‘Care by Giving’ campaign underlines our corporate social responsibility to support all sections of the community. This campaign comes at a very pertinent time with reports highlighting that one in 110 children has autism. ‘Care by Giving’ also embodies the spirit of generosity and charity that mark the Holy Month of Ramadan, and the public can now make a tangible contribution to Dubai Autism Center easily through our service stations,” said Khalid Hadi, ENOC Director of Brand and Corporate Communications.

Mohammad Al Emadi of Dubai Autism Center said: “We have been at the forefront in raising awareness about Autism and supporting children with Autism, their families and care givers. Through the ‘Care by Giving’ campaign we aim to once again highlight the Autism cause and enable the public to make a meaningful difference to the lives of individuals with Autism. We are thankful to all our partners in this campaign who are supporting and helping us reach a wide segment of the population. ENOC partnership is invaluable for achieving our goals from this campaign.”

The Dubai Autism Centre (DAC) is a non-profit organization initiated after the issuance of a decree in 2001 as a resource / counseling center and was launched as a school in 2003. DAC’s mission is to successfully integrate children with Autism into the community through a holistic approach to intervention and therapies; as well as create awareness about Autism within professionals and the general public.

ENOC undertakes regular CSR initiatives that are aimed at supporting underprivileged sections of the community. In partnership with Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre in Dubai and the Community Development Authority, the company hosts the ‘ENOC Challenge,’ a comprehensive nine-month training programme that targets individuals with special needs.

ENOC has also joined hands with the Ministry of Social Affairs to launch the Masiraty programme, to provide workplace training for individuals on welfare. The company has also supported the Thalassemia Centre functioning at Al Wasl Hospital, and the staff members regularly take part in blood donation camps.
