DLA Piper, a global law firm, has been awarded the CSR Label by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a recognition held by only a handful of firms, including Majid Al Futtaim, Standard Chartered Bank and Hilton Jumeirah.

The CSR Label recognises the commitment the firm places on corporate responsibility and is testament to the support the firm offers the local community through pro bono legal advice as well as running community engagement programmes. 

The Dubai Chamber CSR Label is designed to provide a diagnostic framework, learning and development tool to help refine and improve CSR strategy, policies and practice in the UAE. It provides a voluntary standard for CSR implementation in Dubai and elsewhere in the UAE; reviews, evaluates and gives feedback on companies' CSR strategy and actions, and provides the ability for companies to communicate better with stakeholders about their CSR commitment and practice.

H.E. Hisham Abdullah Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice-Chairman, Dubai Chamber, congratulated the company while stating that the Chamber is determined to identify best responsible practices, to establish a reference within the business community, and to encourage the adoption of international best practice with regard to CSR and sustainability by the companies, in this case the DLA Piper, he said

DLA Piper is the only law firm in the Middle East to have appointed a dedicated Corporate Responsibility professional to focus on developing its extensive regional programme. Over the last five years the firm has supported a number of campaigns, from pro bono support with INJAZ Al Arab, through to female empowerment programmes in Saudi Arabia.
