Culin'Or completes corporate responsibility program in the UAE

Culin'Or, a newly launched kitchenware brand in the UAE, has been keen to prove the age-old adage that charity begins at home. The organisation has just completed a corporate responsibility program by giving away 900 household kitchenware items, to local philanthropic institutions.

The initiative, which started during the Holy Month of Ramadan, came to its conclusion yesterday at the Bait Al-Khair humanitarian society in Dubai, where a special ceremony marked the handing over of 50 Culin'Or blenders and 50 Culin'Or cookware gift sets for distribution to those in need.

"Culin'Or was honoured to be able to donate a considerable number of its kitchenware products to charitable institutions in the UAE, of which Bait Al-Khair was the final recipient," said Thurayya Bahman, CEO of Bahman Enterprises, Parent Group of Royal House Lifestyle General Trading, the UAE Distributor of Culin'Or.

"Culin'Or is a newly-launched culinary brand in the UAE. We pride ourselves in having a strong corporate social responsibility program with a focus on the local community, so it was a natural fit to become involved with organisations that work to make life better for those in the UAE who may not be as fortunate as others," she added.

The Bait Al-Khair Society was established in 1989 to provide services to UAE nationals who have been identified as needing particular support; such as those on low incomes, widows, orphans and individuals with special needs.

The organisation was recently in the news for installing ATM-style machines for raising alms and donations in select shopping malls in Dubai for the second successive year. The machines allow donors to choose a particular charity program or project that they are interested in giving to.

"Bait Al-Khair has been at the forefront of initiatives to maximise the exposure of worthy charitable concerns to citizens and residents of the UAE and have made it easier for people to donate money to these organisations," said Ms. Bahman.

"We are very happy to be in a position to assist in the fantastic work that they do and we are very pleased that they will be distributing the 100 Culin'Or kitchenware pieces to those it deems most in need," she added.

The other organisations that have benefited from the Culin'Or charity gift program and also received electrical appliances and kitchenware collections were the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment; Dar Al Ber Society; UAE Red Crescent; Dubai Charity Association; Al Al-Ihsan Center in Ajman; Human Appeal International in Ajman and Al Ansar Mosque in Sharjah.
