Professional Background
I have a great passion for combining the fields of sustainable development and business, and as a result I have developed skills and abilities that enable me to facilitate a synergistic relationship between these fields. In earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Leeds Business School I focused on socially responsible coursework and internships by taking courses like Business Solutions for the Developing World and doing internships like Entrepreneurship Empowerment in South Africa (EESA). I gained practical experience in Business Solutions for the Developing World by working as a business consultant for BOULD, a social enterprise that provides LEED green project building experience to construction and design students and(EESA) where I worked as part of a multicultural team as a business consultant developing sustainable business solutions for previously disadvantaged entrepreneurs. With these two opportunities I developed and refined skills that enable me to work cross-culturally, across multiple business departments (i.e. marketing, human resources, accounting and operations) and across multiple industries. After graduating from Leeds School of Business I further refined my skills, integrating the field of business and sustainable development through working at a nonprofit called Turtle Lake Refuge (TLR). TLR focuses on sustainable agriculture, sustainable land development and community education regarding sustainable lifestyles. At TLR I was able to greatly enhance and diversify my skills and experience in holding the following positions simultaneously: microgreen and raw food production manager, volunteer coordinator, CSA (community supported agriculture) coordinator, raw food chef and sales representative. Simultaneously holding all of these roles reinforced the importance of taking a holistic approach to strategic organizational development in every aspect of the business, from customer relations and sales to production to marketing to developing motivated and effective staff to devising and implementing strategic, sustainable business solutions. Due to my passion for sustainable business and my diverse background I take a holistic approach to every organization that I work for. By holistic approach I mean proactively learning about each aspect of the business and further cultivating healthy relationships between departments and interrelationships between clients, suppliers and strategic partnerships to create a synergistic effect. I really enjoy employing this holistic approach with a CSR mindset.
I am interested in each aspect of sustainable development from sustainable building and infrastructure development to sustainable agriculture and using business as a tool for sustainable development propagation. I intend on finding opportunities that further cultivate my knowledge, skills and abilities in these two fields.

CSR Interest & Background
Throughout my education and professional experience I have focused heavily on corporate social responsibility. I believe business is a key to cultivating a more environmentally, economically and socially sustainable global society. As a result of this belief, I have chosen CSR business courses like Entrepreneurship Empowerment in South Africa and Business Solutions for the Developing World, CSR university clubs like Collegiate Social Impact Initiatives (a club that links students skills and knowledge with the business needs of social enterprises in order to provide experience for students and high quality, free services to social enterprises, improving their effectiveness) and STAND (a program that helps raise awareness about genocide and ways to end it). In developing my professional experiences I have chosen to work for companies with a sustainability mission like Turtle Lake Refuge, a non profit that facilitates land preservation, sustainable agriculture and community education about sustainable lifestyles.
