Environmental Operations Manager - For hospital construction project in Abu Dhabi

 

Sustainability Advisory Group acts asthe LEED Project Manager for a construction JV client in Abu Dhabi building aprestigious multi-billion dollar hospital. The hospital is aiming to be thefirst LEED Gold hospital in the GCC region.

 

Our client has now asked us to assume additionalresponsibilities and provide operational and technical management oversight fortheir on-site Environmental Team.

 

Key objectives:

By supervising the Environmental Teamand working closely with our LEED Project Manager, the key objectives for thisrole are:

  • to ensure compliance with regulatoryrequirements regarding on-site environmental management;
  • to ensure compliance with maincontractor’s and their client’s expectations and standards regardingenvironmental housekeeping and ‘hospital readiness’; and,
  • to provide support for and co-ordinatewith our LEED PM to ensure compliance with LEED requirements regarding on-siteenvironmental management and related data collection.

Contract:

  • 12 months commencing in January 2012
  • 40 hours per average week
  • Project based contract withSustainability Advisory Group

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma or similarqualifications in environmental sciences and/or management (constructionmanagement related qualifications a bonus)
  • Construction on-site experienceessential, ideally within the GCC region
  • Familiarity with environmentalregulatory requirements relating to construction in Abu Dhabi
  • Proven familiarity with LEEDrequirements (LEED GA or AP a bonus)
  • Minimum of three years supervisoryexperience
  • Strong verbal and writtencommunications skills and confidence to communicate at all levels of the maincontractor’s, client’s and subcontractor’s personnel
  • Experience in consulting environment a bonus
