Allen & York are currently looking to appoint a site-based Environmental Consultant to join one of the leading international multi-disciplinary consultancies operating across the Middle East.
The main functions of the role are:
- Fulfil the environmental officer role on site to ensure compliance with the construction environmental management plan.
- Manage and coordinate any environmental permitting required for the project.
- Facilitate site environmental awareness.
- Daily site inspections.
- Internal environmental auditing.
- Development of appropriate Corrective Action Plans arising from both internal and external audit non-conformances.
- Noise monitoring.
- Coordination of soil and water sampling and analysis.
- Communication with regulatory authorities.
- Preparation of high quality reports for compliance purposes.
For the above position the candidate should have:
- Relevant degree (and MSc/second degree - preferred) from an accredited University.
- Membership of an appropriate Professional Institute or Association.
- Demonstrable experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental management and auditing.
- 2-5 years experience, including some experience in working in an international consultancy.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills and ability to develop key relationships.
Salary is tax-free and will be set dependant on the applicants experience.
